Michael Gibbons, artist living and working in Toledo for 32 years, will exhibit his art in Klamath Falls at the Favell Museum September 28 to October 26, 2013 in an Invitational Art Show and Sale showing the work of 32 artists. A native Oregonian born and raised in Portland, he left his ownership and position as designer of specialty automotive accessories for a small manufacturing firm in Portland to pursue painting full time, marking a turning point in his life and giving birth to his reputation as a “regionalist.”
“Autumn View on the Yachats River,” oil, 30” x 45” done ala prima (outdoors) on a crisp fall day, gives validity to the artist’s belief that his most powerful work comes from where he lives. He will include and show several smaller pieces of his art as well. Winner of many awards over the years and with a solo show in London, England and New York City under his belt, Gibbons’ work is coveted by many and in numerous corporate and personal art collections.
